MISSION
The California Diversity Council is committed to being a leader in advancing diversity and inclusion to build strong communities for all Californians.
We are committed to making a difference through the promotion of respect, inclusion and opportunity for all people. We will advance and embrace the principles of diversity in our corporations, communities and through our youth, resulting in a truly diverse culture, which creates an environment where uniqueness and diversity are valued.
SPECIAL SERVICES
CADC fosters a learning environment for organizations to grow in their knowledge of diversity and offers a great opportunity to learn from top corporate leaders in the areas of diversity and inclusion. We offer numerous symposia, conferences and learning resources throughout the year including:
- Leadership Development: Developing executive mentoring and program/leadership development.
- Best Practices: Publication of high-level best practices/model programs in diversity and inclusion; Speakers Bureau and Diversity Tool Kit.
- Workforce Related Services: Recruitment, development, retention, diversity champions.
- Community Links: Diverse Market Outreach, community education and community public relations.
- Supplier Diversity Information: How MBWBEs can become a vendor/supplier to companies.
- Newsletter: Publication of The Diversity First Newsletter.
The California Diversity Council stages several important annual events including the California Diversity and Leadership Conference (Spring, 2010) and the upcoming Women in Leadership Symposium - “Rising Force-Women Leaders in Business” to be held on September 9th, 2009 in Los Angeles.
BACKGROUND
The CADC has chapters in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, and is currently forming new chapters in San Diego, Sacramento and Orange County.
The organization is a member of the National Diversity Council, which establishes regional diversity councils throughout the United States to take a leadership role in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
