| Position Responsibilities: |
Currently, we are looking for qualified, diverse individuals to apply for the following position: The Category Leadership Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive category management plan for the Small and/or Large Outlet business for Mars Ice Cream. The Category Leadership Manager is responsible for increasing the mental and physical availability of our brands in-store by increasing distribution, improving product placement, providing guidance on right pricing and promotion strategies and developing best practice co-marketing programs. The mission is to provide unparalleled value to all stakeholders becoming their first choice for Category Leadership. This associate is responsible for developing category partnerships with retailers and other manufacturer partners and maintaining existing relationships through superior customer service and analytical support. This role will lead the process for identification of customer specific co-marketing opportunities and coordinate any research needs, project initiatives and implementation plans for these customers. Principle Responsibilities * Leverages channel, category and brand knowledge to provide essential fact-based and competitively advantaged solutions for Customer planning and programs of sale. * Pro-actively develops and delivers effective business solutions, transferring proprietary consumer segmentation, relevant research and brand positioning into compelling category focused selling stories and program options. * Manages considerable communication between Customers, Field Sales teams, Brokers, ensuring alignment of category management practices and information. * Provides qualitative consumer and customer category insight back to the Strategic Business Unit to ensure account level knowledge incorporated by internal Sales and Marketing teams. * Develops, executes and evaluates co-marketing programs with Broker, Field Sales and directly with Customer. Maintains and builds collaborative relationships with customer`s and Mars` agencies to develop impactful creative. * Develops the success measures for all category leadership initiatives for the account/geography and tracks customer progress against measures. * Develops strategic solutions to achieve identified objectives by utilizing tools and processes such as item assortment optimization, customized co-marketing, shelf space optimization/utilization, in-store merchandising, pricing analyses, and promotion planning. * Leads the development of training programs which meet needs specified for brokers, region managers, and account team associates in any of the areas of category leadership. * Lead the development of all sales materials needed for successful implementation of new products and new strategies, including annual sales binder materials for assigned customers/segment. Minimum Qualifications: 3 years of experience in Sales or Category Management The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor`s Degree program in a related field, or equivalent work experience. Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (air travel is required) Successful completion of a drug and background screen Preferred Qualifications: 4+ years of manger-level experience in Sales or Category Management in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry MBA degree in Business, proficiency in consumer research and analysis Strong ability to graphically illustrate complex relationships from disaggregated data Complete and expert level of understanding in the Category Management process Company-paid relocation is not available for this position As a privately-held, family-owned company, Mars, Inc. offers benefits which reflect our commitment to attracting and retaining great people.
