| Position Responsibilities: |
Position Summary: As the Maintenance Manager, this individual will direct and coordinate all maintenance activities in the plant and in garages including routine PMs, special projects, safety and environmental concerns and personnel matters. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Ensure all processes and programs are in place and working to effectively ensure asset reliability * Develop long range plans for capital spending including replacements, upgrades, cost savings initiatives, and budget preparation * Ensures the Maintenance Department supports the needs of production, distribution, and sanitation, and keeps all production equipment in proper working condition * Accountable for the operating expense budget for the department * Ensure plant equipment and processes are in compliance with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, environmental, health, emissions, and Sara Lee Global Business Standards * Manages and directs staff by providing ongoing training, recruiting, and counseling * Provides overall project management for all initiatives using either internal or external resources * Ensures the cost and inventory of spare parts is adequate to support good equipment reliability * Ensure the culture of the department supports a collaborative environment with the other departments in the facility ???Support the needs of the plant by participating in all strategic initiatives * Analyze trends and identify continuous improvement opportunities * Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system. * Responsible for reporting and taking any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring. * Responsible for following and enforcing procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system. * Technical/Engineering Degree or equivalent experience. A Bachelor`s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical, Packaging, Processing, or a closely related field is preferred. * 4+ years Engineering/Maintenance experience in a high volume production facility, preferably in food manufacturing * Knowledge/Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement Processes and Tools * Familiarity with FDA and GMP guidelines. * Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, AutoCad * Exposure to Allen Bradley Systems/Controls * Knowledge of PLC`s * Strong inter-personal skills with an ability to build team cohesiveness * Effective managing in a changing environment.
