Position Responsibilities: The Kellogg Company has an exciting opportunity for a Plant Operations Manager located in Atlanta, GA. Accountable for overall operations of assigned area/shift to include: warehouse, labor relations, production, site security, maintenance, quality, safety, regulatory compliance, talent management, and budget. Operations Manager is responsible for correcting and/or finding solutions for errors that are not readily apparent due to the complexity of work process/product or time between decisions and results


Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1.Accountable to ensure raw materials are converted into finished goods for assigned area/shift. Ensure processing, packaging, warehouse and maintenance execution meets targets. Ensures maintenance execution supports production performance. Ensures integration of metrics across the process. Accountable for SIC and SOL management. Accountable for assigned shift & responsible to integrate actions with other shifts.

2.Accountable for deployment and sustainability of Lean Training.

3.Accountable for compliance with all regulations. Food safety ` plant in proper sanitary condition at all times, including allergen control, pest control, guidelines followed. Compliance with food safety policies and procedures. Compliance with employee safety policies and procedures, including K-LEAN.

4.Responsible for assisting with/creating operating budgets and capital budgets with other department managers. Manage within the budget. Participate in the business planning and budgeting process. Develop short and long-term cost containment/reduction strategies.

5.In plants where collective bargaining agreements are in place, accountable for ensuring union contract terms & conditions are met for area of responsibility. Process grievances. Ensures that disciplinary procedures are handled in a consistent manner according to company policies and Labor Agreements.


Education:

Bachelors degree in a related field plus a minimum of five (5) years managerial experience within a manufacturing environment preferred.

OR High School Diploma/GED required plus a minimum of ten (10) years managerial experience within a manufacturing environment.


Candidate Required Qualifications:

Progressive supervisory experience on a plant floor required

Must have 3 years supervisory experience

Managing food operations

Ability or experience managing budgets, mechanical as well as operations budgets.

Effective communication (both written and verbally) and interpersonal skills

Demonstrated ability to manage complexity

Proficiency with computers, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Ability to manage multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities

Proven ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage people

Strong problem solving, negotiating, and decision making skills

Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization

Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others

10 to12 hour days are the standard, with on call responsibility 24/7/365.

Interaction across all three shifts is critical to the success of this role.

Candidate must be able to effectively function in a union environment (where applicable) and promote positive labor relations.

Experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment
