| Position Responsibilities: |
EVENTS MANAGER PURPOSE OF ROLE The purpose of this position is to create and manage high-touch consumer-based events that take place in US market. Events include branded national, regional, local, sponsorships and other special projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES Coordinate all details of special event Develop strategy and tactical plans of events Coordinate strategic partnership events and branded sponsorships Work and coordinate with Marketing (Brand, Direct & Hospitality) on branded events Work as a liaison with local sales teams on regional events Assist Director on corporate branded events Help determine participation and recommended specific activates for key wine events Develop and monitor budgets for all special events activity. Ensure all projects remain within budget General administrative duties (scheduling, travel arrangements, expense reports) Respond/delegate in a timely manner to event requests QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelors degree preferred Ability to influence and participate in a team based environment with Fosters Wine Estates staff (public relations, marketing, hospitality, sales & executives) & vendors Creative, enthusiastic, self-starter with the ability to multi-task and work well with all key functions within the company Demonstrated analytical/conceptual thinking, excellent interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation Strong organizational and time management skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point. Comfort in learning internal programs (JDE, Congos, Spendvision) Excellent verbal and written communications skills Brand ambassador for all Fosters Wine Estates brands Ability to lift 50 lbs (case of wine) Integrity Flexibility Willing/ability to travel Minimum five years special events experience Wine industry experience preferred WORK ENVIRONMENT 60% time divided between meetings and desk work 15% time walking; bending; lifting; packing 25% time travel KEY RELATIONSHIPS Marketing (Brand, PR, Direct Marketing) Sales Executives Winemaking Local Winery Teams Samples fulfilment Vendors Event liaisons Media KEY DECISION MAKING IN THIS ROLE Prioritizing tasks at hand, including calendar deadlines and brand priorities Budget coding/reconciliation Anticipate/manage tasting logistics for special events KEY CHALLENGES IN ACHIEVING GOAL(S) Supporting multiple team members Challenges of harnessing information and special ordering wines from Australia Challenges of ordering wine internally from multiple locations Communication/trouble shooting with finance on budget reconciliation Fosters is committed to creating an inspiring workplace which attracts and retains highly skilled people.
