Position Responsibilities: The Kellogg Company is seeking an Account Executive in the Chicagoland area that will handle Central Grocer`s Independent accounts. The Account Executive will produce incremental revenue by building customer plans, incorporating KUSA programs , developing growth strategies and penetrating various levels of customer HQ personnel. In addition, this position is responsible for working with the field sales team to ensure promotions are executed to the fullest.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


a) Managing an account within the assigned market area to achieve sales budgets.

b) Negotiating with customers to achieve desired sales results and strong customer relationships.

c) Presenting new products to customers utilizing a full range of data sources to prepare and conduct effective presentations.

d) Working collaboratively with sales and supply chain partners.

e) Ensuring shelf and in-store selling objectives are met through retail partners.

f) Ensuring promotion price point integrity and parity at HQ-Retail level.

g) Executing HQ plans, developing promotional plans, achieving sales volume within spend budget and delivering Return On Investment targets.

h) Develop account level plans to impact shelf space, merchandising, advertising, promotions and pricing.

i) Forecast sales annually and on a period basis as part of the integrated business process.

j) Communicate with the Retail team, regarding account cooperation, ad dates, display dates and results.




-High School Diploma or GED plus 8 years sales or CPG related experience (account experience preferred as part of the 8 years) OR BA/BS Degree with 2 4 years experience calling on Buyers and Category Managers at the Headquarters level (indirect or direct); is required.

-DSD experience preferred.

-BW, SAP, CRM, IRI/Nielsen, preferred.

-Must be able to write a strong business plan.

-Must have a valid driver`s license and clean driving record.

-Proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.

-Previous experience communicating complex and/or detailed information to multiple individuals/audiences with differing knowledge levels, both in writing and verbally, is required.

-Approximately 10% travel is required
