Fiskars, a global manufacturer of branded consumer products, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced, energetic, and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Sr. Project Engineer at our FISKARS division in Madison, WI. The primary responsibility of this role will be to ensure the timely execution of projects and support implementation from concept development to initial production launch. The Sr. Project Engineer will work within a cross functional team including other engineers, industrial design, marketing, creative, sourcing and purchasing. The Sr. Project Engineer will be responsible for developing project timelines and managing the NPD process to ensure that projects are completed on time, on budget and with all required deliverables. They will be responsible for communicating project status throughout the organization. They will also be responsible for maintaining and updating the NPD process and associated documents as the needs of the business evolve. Major Responsibilities: -Develop programs and project timelines to ensure that projects are completed on schedule and within budget. -Prepare document summaries to communicate NPD project status throughout the organization -Effectively communicate to cross functional new product teams the timing and requirements for all deliverables to improve the throughput and time to market. -Coordinate with sourcing and outside suppliers to guarantee the successful implementation of the product through production part approval. Monitor tooling build schedule and submission of samples. -Coordinate the interaction with outside design services to ensure that deliverables and projects are completed in a timely manner. -Collaborate with the Project Engineering Supervisor and Design Engineering Supervisor to help allocate internal and external design resources in order to make the most efficient use of available resources and help with prioritization of projects within the company. -Develop test methodologies to be used for competitive product testing and benchmarking of our products to fully understand the performance of our products versus competitors. -Coordinate third party testing as required. -Monitor compliance standards and communicate requirements to the organization to guarantee that products meet acceptable standards. -Update process documents and associated deliverables for the different project classifications as the needs of the business evolve to optimize the efficiency of the New Product Development Teams.
