| Position Responsibilities: |
Leads the Design Strategy process on the front end of new brand and communication development, including ideation, brand positioning, concept development, and design strategy development. Manages the cross-functional aspects of each project to achieve objectives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Translates business strategy to design strategy. Works with key stakeholders to indentify and develop brand direction. - Leads cross-functional ideation sessions, brainstorming, and benefit laddering. Provides holistic positioning concepts to Brand Marketing/Research for qualitative and quantitative research validation. - Acts as a critical partner in marketing and positioning development to deliver an innovative and high quality consumer brand experience through strategic partnership with the New Product Innovation, Consumer Research and Brand Marketing Teams. - Partners with Creative Directors to develop and plan design strategy and establish program priorities. - Authors the Creative Brief and communicates the Brand identity and style guide to all parties - Brand, Trade Marketing, Creative Packaging and POS. Ensures everyone holds to the strategic plan. - Provides cross functional and cross departmental leadership to deliver on all Ideation Pipeline needs, prioritize initiatives and identify any staff capacity issues that may impact timing or quality. - Determines and documents the visual language, information architecture, design, and communication for the brand through creation and documentation of Brand Book. - Presents design strategy documents, influences decisions with executive management, and explains the rationale of a given strategic direction. - Participates in all relevant consumer research activities as a means to create a clear design vision for new product packaging and communication opportunities. - Educates Creative Service staff to ensure successful execution of Brand Design programs and to ensure that programs achieve strategic objectives. - Trains the broader Project Management/Account Executive team in Design Strategy processes. - Identifies process improvement opportunities and client unmet needs and recommends/executes solutions. - Must maintain satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness. - Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations. - Bachelor`s degree plus 5 years of leading Innovation, Brand positioning, or New Product development projects, to include 2 years of facilitation experience. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - MBA/Master`s degree. - Facilitation certification. - Experience in creation of ideas, and developing through from concept to market. - Intermediate level of knowledge of Marketing, Consumer Research, and Design principles. - Experience with integrating various data sources (technical, high analytics, visual, etc.) to reveal a cohesive direction for visual strategy. - Experience in presenting to and working with all levels of the organization. - Experience in working well with a diverse group of personalities across multiple disciplines and must be able to adjust language appropriately. - Experience with working in a fast paced environment with quick project turnaround. - Advanced level knowledge of Consumer Research techniques and analysis. - Advanced user knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. - Experience with collecting feedback and facilitating consensus between stakeholders. - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Strong presentation and persuasion skills - Experience with succinctly and effectively integrating research findings in a way that influences design strategy, creatives, and clients. - Experience with resolving issues and building relationships with internal and cross functional groups. |
