Position Responsibilities:	BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: Develop Walmart category strategic business plans to build category sales volume and profitability. Provide expert category analysis and insights. Grow Walmart categories by using category management principles including Retail Link/Vision Chain and marketplace data to develop best recommendations. Conduct on going customer contact to understand needs and category requirements to drive category building initiatives. The Sr. Category Advisor (CA) interfaces directly with the Director of Category Advisory and works with the Category Analyst to analyze performance and ROI. The Sr. Category Advisor is responsible for communicating Walmart strategy changes to the Director of Category Advisory and sharing best practices with their category counterparts (Walmart team, Field Category and Corporate Category teams). PRINCIPAL CONTINUING RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Direct, manage and optimize all aspects of customer category management process: Category Management model Schematics development (Modular Process) New item presentations Category reviews/overviews 2. Develop business reviews for category development initiatives and customer calls 3. Conduct syndicated data analysis to understand brand performance, competitive conditions and category trends. 4. Incorporate syndicated data analysis with Retail Link/Vision Chain to provide holistic category recommendations. 5. Partner with Walmart to determine what category success looks like. 6. If requested, provide trade promotion evaluations to help build future plans. EDUCATION: BA/BS required; MBA preferred YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 5-10 years relevant business experience In consumer packaged goods industry or broker SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Proven record of success in retail grocery industry with consumer packaged goods or broker experience. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to influence customer contacts. Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills and analytical and problem solving abilities. Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Nielsen, Retail Link or other syndicated data and competent in PowerPoint. No sponsorship is available for this position.
