MISSION

The California Diversity Council is committed to being a leader in advancing diversity and inclusion to build strong communities for all Californians.

The CADC is a non-profit organization that champions diversity and inclusion throughout California’s academia, businesses, and communities. The CADC creates a platform for discourse and collaboration around common inclusion issues and provides education, development, and community building opportunities for all Californians. The CADC is a partner of the National Diversity Council (NDC) and was founded in November 2007.


SPECIAL SERVICES

CADC fosters a learning environment for organizations to grow in their knowledge of diversity and offers a great opportunity to learn from top corporate leaders in the areas of diversity and inclusion. We offer numerous symposia, conferences and learning resources throughout the year including:

  • Leadership Development: Developing executive mentoring and program/leadership development.
  • Best Practices: Publication of high-level best practices/model programs in diversity and inclusion; Speakers Bureau and Diversity Tool Kit.
  • Workforce Related Services: Recruitment, development, retention, diversity champions.
  • Community Links: Diverse Market Outreach, community education and community public relations.
  • Supplier Diversity Information: How MBWBEs can become a vendor/supplier to companies.

The California Diversity Council sponsors several important events each year including the California Diversity and Leadership Conference to be held in San Francisco California, May 21-14, 2010. The theme of this year’s Conference is Becoming a Diversity FIRST Consumer and will feature keynote speaker Dr. Cornel West.


BACKGROUND

The CADC has chapters in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area, and is currently forming new chapters through out California.

The organization is a partner with the National Diversity Council, which establishes regional diversity councils throughout the United States to take a leadership role in promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
